Our History
Fjord Nautical Instruments was founded as a partnership in 1967 by Gail & Capt. Edward Ratigan, PhD
Through the ’70’s, FJORD manufactured a compact nautical range-finding analog calculator of its own design.
In 1991, FJORD developed and patented the Chafe-Pro®concept for protecting marine lines from chafe abrasion.
